Obituary from The Sentinel, William B. Buchanan Dead Our city was thrown into a state of excitement Sunday morning when it was learned that Wm. B. Buchanan had that morning been found dead in bed by his family. Deceased had been in poor health for many months past, but recently had been feeling so much better that his family and friends were very hopeful of recovery. He was out all day Saturday and walked down in town where he spent the greater part of the day. Feeling as well as usual he retired Saturday night and possibly suffered with a paralytic stroke to which he was of late subject. His sufferings were doubtless very little as when found the cover was placed as he left it and seemingly he had just folded his hands and fallen asleep. Decreased was born in Trimble county, Kentucky, on March 4th, 1835 and came with his parents to Missouri in 1849 settling in Montgomery county where he was raised and educated. In October 1859 he was married to Sarah J. Dugan, daughter of George Dugan, and removed to Pike County near this city in 1863 and resided there until a few weeks ago when he moved into this city. He was the father of six children, two boys and four girls all married but one. He united with the Baptist church at Ramsay Creek some 25 years ago but at the time of his death was a devoted member at Dover. In the death of Mr. Buchanan, his wife loses a faithful husband, the children an affectionate father, the church a conscientious Christian and the community one of its best citizens. To the grief stricken family the SENTINEL extends its sincerest sympathy in this their dark hour of bereavement. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church at 10 o'clock Tuesday by Rev. J. F. Cook of LaGrange, after which the body was interned in our city cemetery in the presence of a large concourse of relative and friends.”

Buchanan, wife and little daughter, of Nevada, Mo., came over Monday to attend the burial of the Dr's. brother, W. B. Buchanan." "Mr. and Mrs. Hudson of Lincoln County, were here at the burial of W. B. Buchanan Tuesday. Mrs. Hudson was formerly Miss Dora Buchanan."
