A Service of Committal for LENA CLITHERO 

No words can ever express the life that Lena has had, or the many things that have happened in that life. However, we remember, especially, these: Lena Jennie Clithero was born August 25, 1894, the daughter of William Henry and Julia Anna Hobbs Heim Price. She died Monday, May 11, 1992, at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico,(MO) where she had been a patient for 17 days. She was a resident of the Gazette and Middletown area until moving to Tri-County Nursing Home here in Vandalia in August 1989. She was married to Isaac R. Clithero on December 24, 1914. He preceded her in death on December 1974. Her survivors include five sons, Kenneth, Joe, Benny, and Robert of Vandalia; and Carroll of Jefferson City; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Homer Price of Inglewood, California, and Paul Price of Vandalia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Selma Paule; two grandchildren, Gary and Bradley Clithero; two brothers, Milas and James Price; one sister, Phoebe Price; one helf-sister, Ella Price McCune; and two half brothers, Ogle Heim and Hugh Price. Lena was a member of the Gazette Methodist Church, moving her membership to Vandalia United Methodist Church in September 1950. She was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service of The United Methodist Church, and a Sunday School teacher for many years. Lena attended church and Sunday School as long as her health permitted.
