Pike County Missouri Cemeteries - St. James Catholic Church and Cemetery

one-third of a mile southwest of this site stood St. James catholic church from 1871 until 1925. on the small tract of land which was deeded to the archdiocese of St. Louis by Andrew & Martha Davis was built a 20 x 40 foot frame church at an approx cost of $1000. this mission parish was served from St. Patrick parish in Rolla, mo. until 1880. next it was served briefly from Quincy, ill., and then from 1881-82 by immaculate conception parish in Montgomery city. from 1882 until its closure in 1920 the parish was under the jurisdiction of St. clement parish of St. clement, mo. in 1925 the church was dismantled and the altar and furnishings were moved to St. clement school chapel.
