Patri (Pat) Benning, II
Obituary from the Louisiana
Press Journal PAT BENNING OBIT Mr. Benning died December 25, 1990, at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. He was born to Olaus Davis and Julia Cornish Benning on August 21, 1927, at Hannibal. He was married to Gene Foster on December 23, 1950, in Iowa, she survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Ann Benning Dolarhide of Crescent and Janet Foster Benning Howard of Manchester, his mother, Julia Benning of Louisiana; one brother, John Davis Benning of Louisiana; one nephew; and five grandchildren. Mr. Benning lived for many years in Louisiana. He graduated from Louisiana High School and attended Kemper Military School in Booneville. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a seaman during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He attended Westminster College in Fulton and Washington University in St. Louis. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and graduated with a degree in business administration. He opened a Culligan dealership in Louisiana and worked for
Culligan in several capacities. He moved to St. Louis, managed the St. Louis area Culligan dealership from 1980 until his death. Benning enjoyed his involvement in music and played the tenor saxophone. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. today at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. Pallbearers will be John Tolson Smith, Miller Waugh, Daney Robinson, Dewey Branstetter, Floyd Branstetter, Edward Behrens, Rule Campbell and Luther Parker. |
