Obituary from The Bowling Green
Times, Mrs. Maggie Harris, widow of John L. Harris, deceased, died at her home 4 1/2 miles north of this place, Tuesday morning of last week. On Sunday before she was stricken with paralysis, while in apparent good health, and died as above stated. Her husband died about twenty years ago. She was born in Kentucky, but had been a resident of this county for many years. Two grown sons survive her. She had been a member of the Christian church for many years. Funeral services were conducted at the family residence Thursday at 2 p.m., by Elder S.W. Marr, after which the remains were taken to the Bowling Green Cemetery for burial. Mrs. Margaret Harris, nee Montague, was born February 14th, 1836, and died February 20th, 1901, hence she was 65 years and 6 days old. She was united in marriage to John L. Harris in the year 1868. He departed this life July 30th, 1880. To this union were born three children: John W. Harris, Charles H. Harris and Tony [Tommy] K. Harris, the latter who departed this life August 28th, 1882. |
