CURRYVILLE
- Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, at the
Curryville Cemetery for Margaret Brown Lemon, 79, of Hot Springs, Ar., a
former resident of the Curryville community. The Rev. W. G. Mitchell of
Bowling Green officiated.
Pallbearers were Henry
Waddell, J.D. McCune, Jimmy Stevens, Tom Doyle, John Craig and J. Renny
Reading.
Margaret Brown, daughter of
Frank and Fannie J. Brown, died at 10:00 p.m. Thursday at the St. Joseph
Hospital at Hot Springs, Ar. She grew to young womanhood and attended
the Curryville schools. At an early age she united with the Mt. Air
Presbyterian Church.
She was united in marriage to
Lloyd Lemon in 1914. He preceded her in death, as did three children,
Lloyd Jr., who died in infancy, Vivian Frances at the age of 12, and
Edwin Brown Lemon who died in 1957; a granddaughter, Margaret Jean; and
two sisters, Miss Jennie Bell Brown and Mrs. Sue Doughlas Wright.
Survivors are one sister,
Mrs. Helen Chamberlain, St. Petersburg, Fl.; two nieces, Mrs. Betty
Burch, St. Petersburg and Mrs. Glenn (Virginia Sue) Atkinson of Sanger,
Ca.; one great niece, Carol Barber; one great nephew, Terry Burch and a
number of cousins.
Although Mrs. Lemon has been
away from Curryville a number of years, she will be remembered by many
friends.
The body was in state at the
Kirks Funeral Chapel in Bowling Green from 2:00 p.m. Sunday until time
of services.

She was the daughter of Mayor Thomas Franklin and Fanny Ann (DOUGLASS) BROWN.
She married Lloyd L. LEMON 22 Sep 1915 in Pike Co., Mo.
Lloyd L. LEMON was born 10 Oct 1893 in Searcy, AR. and died 10 Oct 1960 in Hot Springs, AR.
He was the son of George and Annie (FERGUSON) LEMON. |
