Obituary of Mrs. Baxter

Mrs. Amanda Baxter, born in Pike County, November 17, 1836, near Louisiana, died at her home in Farber, Mo., December 20, 1916. She was married to Mr. M. M. (sic) Brandon in 1858, who preceded her to the grave about 23 years ago. To this union were born eight children, four girls and four boys; all living except one daughter. Her children are as follows: Mrs. Alice Brimer, resident of St. John, Wash,; Mrs. Neppie Brimmer, deceased; Mrs. Cora O'Donnell, resident of Farber; Mrs. Don Hull, resident of Rockford, Iowa; Escue Brandon, resident of Lewistown, Mont; Willie Brandon, resident of Centerville, Iowa; Mike Brandon, resident of Farber; Mote Brandon, resident of Farber. Mrs. Brandon was remarried to John Nalley April 27, 1898. Mrs. Nalley joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at the age of sixteen. She died at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 3 days. She leaves an aged father ? and a host of relatives and friends, including thirty two grandchildren and forty six great-grandchildren. The Rev. S. E. McDonald conducted the funeral at the Presbyterian Church December 21, 1916. She was buried at Farber. She was one of the land marks of this community and her relatives have the sympathy of all -- Vandalia Mail
