Obituary from The
Louisiana Press Journal Death of J. N. Price. John Nicholas Price died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arthur Smith on North Ninth St. Wednesday October 21, 1925 at 4 p.m. after a long illness at the age of 77 years 4 months and 21 days. The funeral was conducted at the Baptist Church by Rev. J. W. Jefferies and the body was interred in Buffalo Cemetery. Nick Price was a son of Robert B. Price and Phebe Grimmet and was born in this county May 22, 1848. He was married to Miss Julia Barnett, daughter of Robert (sic) Barnett a pioneer citizen who preceded him several years ago. He leaves four children Earl Price, Joseph Price, Mrs. Arthur Smith of this city and vicinity and Mrs. C.W. Bibb of Bowling Green and one sister Mrs. W. F. Edwards. He also leaves six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He had been a member of the Baptist Church since early manhood and was an honest upright citizen whose influence was always cast for good in the circles to which he moved and he leaves to his children the memory of a good name.
