DEATH OF BRYANT SILVEY.

Bryant Silvey made the supreme sacrifice on the battle fields of France September 12. Bryant was the third son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Silvey, eight miles north of Bowling Green. He was born April 9, 1892. He grew to manhood in the community where he was born and united with the Peno Baptist church in 1908. He was a faithful member until his death. March 13, 1913 he went to Montana to seek work. He lived there four years then this Great War came. Bryant, ever willing to do his part in everything, enlisted at Helena, Mont., in March 1917. Began training in the United States Army April 9, 1917. Sailed for France December, 1917. In the last letter he wrote his mother before he sailed, he told her not to worry about him, that he would be home some sweet day. If not, he would meet her in a sweeter home. Although Bryant had passed to the Great Beyond September 12, the word only reached home folks last week. Several days previously a telegram came that he was severely wounded September 12. The second telegram stated that he died the same day he was wounded. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, December 17, at 1:30 at the Peno Church. The deceased leaves a father and mother, four brothers, James, Ray, Clyde, who is in the U. S. Army in France; Johnny, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Houchin and Mrs. Lucy Houchin, and a host of friends and relatives to morn his loss.
